Vote on the possibility of Intergroup Closure 2-18-12
January 25, 2012 by secretary.
It was decided by the 1-21-12 Intergroup attendees that a vote will take place at a so-called “special Intergroup”, to be held on February 18, 2012 whether to continue with Intergroup as a central unit responsible for the helpline, schedule, and website maintenance, as well as other duties.
If the vote is to close Intergroup, those in attendance will discuss how to pass on those three primary provisions to the area meetings and request that responsiblity be taken for each.
Please see the minutes from Intergroup for more information:

Capital Region Integroup Shutdown Potential
January 18, 2012 by secretary.
There are several Intergroup officers and regular attendees who have decided personally that they will not be able to continue with their duties should a quorum of 2 officers and 2 fellowship members not occur for the next 3 Intergroups (1/21, 3/17, 5/19 of 2012). More will be discussed this Saturday at the Intergroup meeting - 11:30 at Pine Grove Methodist Church in Albany. There is no requirement for attendance at Intergroup beyond attendance at SLAA meetings.
The consequence of these resignations would be the shutdown of a number of Intergroup Provisions. The decision is based primarily on a lack of attendance at Intergroup and the inability to sometimes not meet for 2 or 3 out of the 6 yearly Intergroup meetings.

Intergroup meeting location change
March 19, 2011 by secretary.
Intergroup will temporarily be meeting at Pine Grove Methodist Church, on Central Avenue, Albany at 11:30am Saturday 5-19-11. Intergroup will decide at that point whether to keep that location or to decide on an alternate location. That decision was not made on 3-19-11 because there was not a quorum, therefore Intergroup was not held.

Why don’t all meetings have their addresses listed?
February 15, 2009 by chair.
At the January 17th Intergroup meeting we voted on what the Capital Region Intergroup of SLAA’s position on a web presence should be. At that time 4 groups voted to have full disclosure of their meeting information, 3 voted to have only the city and time of the meeting, and 1 voted to keep the status quo of just the hotline phone number listed on the FWS website (http://www.slaafws.org)
Immediately after that meeting this website was created and the full schedule with street addresses of ALL meetings was posted. A week or 2 later it was brought to my attention about minority voting opinion and the 4th tradition. 4th Tradition States that all groups should be autonomous except in matters affecting SLAA as a whole.
With those ideas in mind I felt it more prudent to modify the schedule available on the web. Only those groups who voted to display their street address have theirs displayed. Displaying street addresses will be an “opt-in” program so that only those groups voting definitively “YES” will have their street address displayed. This matter will be discussed further at the next Intergroup meeting on March 21st.
Thanks for your understanding and patience in this matter. Please discuss amongst yourselves.
Yours in recovery,
Bill R., Intergroup Chair

January 18, 2009 by admin.
At the Saturday January 17, 2009 business meeting for Intergroup it was decided that we should have a web presence. It was further decided that our complete schedule be published at this site.
Please provide your comments to your group representative and we can take feedback at the next Intergroup meeting on March 17, 2009.
Thanks for everyone’s hard work on this and their willingness to adhere to the rules of group conscience.
